Elektronnaya biblioteka istoricheskikh dokumentov (EBID) is a continuously updated, open access collection of digitised historical documents on the history of Russia. The library is a partner project of the Russian Historical Society, the Fund “History of the Motherland”, the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History, the State Historical Public Library of Russia, the ROSSPEN publishing house and the InfoRost non-profit partnership. The purpose of the EBID is to promote the study of Russian history and its popularisation among a wide range of users: students, teachers, researchers, specialists and all citizens interested in Russian history. To fulfil this goal, the electronic library collects important historical documents, including editions that are difficult to access for readers, and publishes them in open access on the Internet.
