“Predatory” or “junk” journals are periodicals that claim to be scientific journals, charging fees from authors of manuscripts without prior full-fledged editing and review. Such publications publish articles of low quality with signs of plagiarism and pseudoscience. Publication in “predatory” journals leads to loss of time and money of a scientist, and causes serious damage to his professional reputation.
